Our inner world projects our outer world
Mantra: What can I let go? To make space for what I want to let in?
With each moment that passes, the right words get deleted and then retyped.
Wondering if now is the right time to send something in the shaky world we’re in. But when is the right time for anything?
The mantra that keeps coming up and I invite you to say it with me:
what can I let go? To make space for what I want to let in?
As I asked myself these same questions, I’m letting go of trying to say the perfect words at the right time…or stop trying to get the right timing for everything in life.
Instead, just lean into imperfection.
And so I’ve decided to share this same sentiment here through a series on, Yoga of the Mind: Exploring the Four Parts of Your Inner World.
A few months ago, I created this as an Insight Timer paid course but it got rejected on the platform because there was a bit too much background noise for their paid subscribers (imperfection).
I could re-record but honestly, the rawness and imperfection are what make it more true.
So for the next 4 months, you can expect short insightful audio lessons coupled with mindful meditation practices to apply what you've been learning.
As you explore these four parts, I hope you’ll learn some of the essential components of your subconscious mind.
Why is it crucial to understand your own mind?
1 in 5 adults experiences some type of mental health symptom
We often know something feels off but don’t have the language for the root cause of things
So much of our actions and behaviors are directed by our unconscious mind
Everything from our relationships, to our work, to getting that business or project off the ground stems from our mind. But our mind can be a forest of good, bad, and estranged memories.
To be better at dealing with anything in life, we need to face what’s happening inside of us. Even if they are small things.
Our inner world projects our outer world
As you journey through the Yoga of the Mind series here on The Contentment Corner, hopefully, you’ll gain insight into your thoughts, emotions, and memories that influence your words and your actions.
And perhaps start to to find some of your own answers to your own questions, and continue on a path towards greater purpose and spiritual fulfillment.
For me, I know these to be true. When I first started to learn and gain some knowledge on yoga psychology, things started to click for me.
Learning this started to plant many seeds.
You’ll hear in the first lesson some of my lowest of lows I’ve been in and I want to provide that trigger warning as well — please know that I share some vulnerable moments in order to describe what yoga of the mind is.
I can confidently say that I do see a distinct shift especially when I reflect back. And while I’m not the type of person who shares or markets this way, and even hesitant to write it now…
It isn’t by chance that I moved to NYC, then met the man that I wrote down I wanted to meet, and have now spent close to 10 years with this human.
It’s not by chance that I built a business from the ground up that is currently making close to 6 figures, and while I’m not personally making that (I’ve written about the difference between what your business makes versus what I make in this blog), creating anything from scratch let alone the thing that brings in your income takes so much grit and resilience.
It’s not by chance that I’ve moved and lived in 5 different major cities between the ages of 22-35.
“Your responsibility is to evolve, not optimize.” - from
I attribute a lot of this to this steady yogic mind and path: There is no magic pill or growth hack to many things in life. And perhaps I’m listing these things to try to show how the teachings work!
But I’m now reminded that I’m a teacher, not a preacher. And these paragraphs feel a bit preachy which is why you’ll never really see me marketing anything I do like “Use my formula to make 6 figures in your business or side hustle.”
And what if you’re curious about mindful marketing?
Scroll down to the mindful marketing section each month. I’ll take you behind the scenes on each marketing strategy I use to re-purpose and market this course. From website content, social, how I gain new subscribers. My hope is that if you’re leading your own business or passion project, you’ll learn something tangible that you apply yourself.
So let’s get to the teachings…
In this month’s Contentment Corner you’ll find:

Saying it again:
What can I let go? To make space for what I want to let in?,
Lesson 1: Understanding Manas: The Emotional Mind
In this short 6-minute lesson, we go into the depths of your inner world to understand how emotions manifest and shape your perception of reality. Manas serves as the bridge between your external senses - sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch - and your internal experiences. But Manas has its quirks—it's not the part of your mind that makes rational decisions. It can be quite irrational, waiting for more stimuli or seeking support from other facets of your mind. In this class, you'll learn to navigate the often turbulent waters of Manas, harnessing its emotional power and understanding its limitations. Embrace Manas as an essential part of your inner world and learn to navigate your emotions with grace and insight.
Practice Meditation: Navigating Emotional Waves
Calmly watch your thoughts in this guided meditation. We begin by paying attention to the thoughts that naturally arise in our Mind. Without any judgment or the need to change anything. Followed by sweet affirmations for you to take away. This practice is a helpful tool to use in your meditation journey, but so important for you to continue to explore and use it beyond this session and in your everyday life.

For Mindful Marketing
So, along with repurposing this course and potentially selling it on my own platform, I know I need to reach more people (aka gain new subscribers). There are several marketing strategies to take to get new subscribers but one of my favorites is a workbook of some sort. I’ve seen these do really well for my clients, like Healing Schools Project, and I’ve seen it work well for me.
This is the landing page for the workbook and take a peak at the actual workbook. What I’m trying to do is offer something useful for the practitioners that are a bit more spiritual, “advanced”, or more curious about the meditation aspect of yoga. Because I want to immediately make the connection to yoga of the mind.
Why is this important: Most of the time it’s really hard to go straight to selling anything. People need to “learn more” before they buy. It’s one reason we see free trials or free subscriptions for apps or products.
Next, I need to start amplifying this workbook. Amplification strategy can look like social media, blogs, getting featured in other blogs. I’ve got a lot of work coming up so stay tuned for next month to see how it goes :) and let me know if this BTS is helpful.
