What do you do when you have those existential thoughts?
The ones that leave you at a dead-end answer, only to realize you need to turn around. They seem to follow me at every turn of life.
And so, I’ve been repeating this while I do the dishes. In the shower. As a way to pause.
And, while I did write it — it feels like a message from beyond for our transition into Spring.
My body is a temple My mind is my heaven When I feel like I’m in hell I bring breath back in my body My body is a temple My mind is my heaven When I feel like I’m in hell I bring breath back in my body My body is a temple My mind is my heaven When I feel like I’m in hell I bring breath back in my body

The NYTimes recently published an article on The Power of Breath Work.
You can read some of my notes and highlights here. And while it’s wonderful to read the science and a few after-thought-like remarks about how “yogis and meditators have been talking about [breathwork] for thousands of years,”
I am reminded that Western thought will continue to appropriate these practices and disconnect the source of where they come from.
So, if you’re a teacher or facilitator, remind your students that breathwork is an ancient practice that stems from yoga with its origins in India. Even some of these new age breath practices, when I read where it comes from it says something like “influenced by yoga breathing.” Yoga is not yoga without breathing (pranayama). And it is our job as teachers to educate the public about that. Because the media won’t (clearly). Our students are learning, that’s why they come to class — to learn from you.
Ok end rant, thank you for being here. Yoga is powerful.

This is anonymous, if I do create something you won’t be on the hook to join or participate in any way. I would just love to see what captures your attention!
1. A mental health writing salon would focus on prompts or exercises to write to support our mind, spirit and Self
2. Pre-recorded classes would focus on yoga but similar to my writing I integrate many things
3. A group mentorship could integrate practice, life, career, and business/marketing
4. A 21-Day challenge could focus on our visions and showing up for them

If you missed it last month, I wrote a personal essay on how much I actually made self-employed. And how long it’s taken me to find helpful bookkeepers and accountants. I’ll need to update this blog post later but these accountants, Singletrack Accounting, have my freaking back ya’ll! Self-employed I was going to owe $5,500 on top of the $7,000 I already paid quarterly. They completely changed the strategy and I’m actually getting a refund this year which is unheard of in the self-employed world. 🙌
For your soul ✨
How do we open ourselves up to the sacredness of life? The non-human intelligence that can get lost in our day-to-day (it’s normal). We can reignite it by sharing space with each other. Read more of the details about this summer retreat.
